Last Minute Schedule Change!

Hi AC Fans,
Sorry to be so flighty the past couple of weeks. You've been very patient with the scheduling complexities brought on by International and American Education Weeks. I have one more to throw at you, and then I promise to be more reliable. The American Corner will be CLOSED MONDAY, DECEMBER 1 for the Amideast Staff Retreat. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but keep in mind it will help us serve you better!
Thanks,
m

All you need is some good friends and good food - assemble both the food and friends at the table, take a moment to consider what you are thankful for this year, and eat like crazy - then you will have celebrated a real American-style Thanksgiving!

If you're still reading this post, you're probably serious about this whole Thanksgiving thing. If you really want to make a Thanksgiving meal, check out these recipes for traditional foods that American families eat on this holiday! Here they are for your convenience. American Study Week Activities

For those of you who attended events at Amideast for International Study Week, don't stop now! Next week is American Study Week and two events are being held at the American Corner:

If you're interested in journalism, come Monday, Nov 24 from 15:30 - 17:30 to watch the movie Shattered Glass starring Hayden Christensen in the true story of a young journalist who finds success making up his news stories...until he is caught. American Fulbright Scholar Claudia Januane will be presenting the film and discussing the ethics of journalism.

Chances are, if you visited the American Corner any time in October, you were forced to watch the internet videos created by celebrities for the Obama Campaign. Here is your chance to learn more about the impact they had on American voters. On Wednesday, Nov 26 from 17:00 - 18:30 Hisham Ben Khamsa, General Manager of Palmyra Communications, will be conducting a lecture entitled "To What Extent did Hollywood Play a Role in Shaping the Perception of US Voters During the 2008 Election Campaign?" Need to jog your memory? Check out some of the best videos here:
will.i.am video - "Yes We Can"
Hollywood Declares Themselves - "Don't Vote!"

See you at the American Corner!
